Visited @beal_innovates -you will find...engaged students, real-world problem solving, balanced learning of 4 credits, team-teachers in a positive environment. “I like learning when I have choices and care about the topic. If I’m just told what to do, I don’t care.”-student

Imagine S.O.L.E. stations with extra Hand hygiene and distance. If your posters are laminated, like smartboards, you should be able to at least have a T demo version up. Also we have a Jamboard version of Project Canvas for Ss to go digital - will share soon
Yes this!!!! My desks in rows are so sad.... my inquiry team white-board posters are all rolled up, my 24x36 team ‘research’ clipboards tucked away.. the current reality is NOT how I teach... or how kids learn best.

Worth reminding folks that lower numbers of students attending our schools (Eg parents opting out/opting for online) doesn’t REDUCE class size. Rather, there will be reorganization based on the number of students back to regular sizes. #onpoli #onted #UnsafeSeptember

UPDATE: As a result of the #OECTA complaint before the OLRB, the FULL results of the government’s “largest ever” education consultation will become available – proof of opposition to Ford’s cuts will FINALLY see the light of day! #onlab #onpoli #onted
We’ve asked the Minister over and over to release their million dollar consultation report. They refuse. They continue to bury it. We won’t give up. Ontarians deserve to be heard! 🔊 #onpoli #onted

@STEMatSaunders Ss share their Passion Projects with grades 6-8. They are articulate, engaging, and thoughtful young people. We spent the p.m. blasting rockets in the yard in our student-designed T-shirts and watching a student-created year end video. It has been a privilege.

To keep Indigenous partners in the dark on Indigenous curriculum changes, & then consult AFTER the curriculum release is troubling. @LisaThompsonMPP is keeping everyone in the dark. Indigenous voice must be at the forefront of this process. #onted #onpoli #edchat #OSSTF
Ministry of Education set to release Indigenous curriculum soon for Ontario high schools; partners' input to be added later. #cbcsby cbc.ca/news/canada/sudbury/r…

@STEMatSaunders Ss when asked what they are learning in the program responded: "1. working together, 2. doing projects, 3. designing things, 4. using new technologies, 5. more freedom and interaction with others." Notice that they did NOT answer, Science, Tech, English, Math.

Subjects don't exist in isolation outside of school. Break down the silos and amazing growth happens for Ss and Ts! #tvdsb @rickpardo
