Despite the passage in some cases of years, these cases remain unsolved. Investigators believe that someone still has information that could help identify those responsible, and families continue to seek answers and hope that renewed public attention will generate new leads.

District 4 detectives are working to identify this man -- who pointed a gun at an off-duty police officer from another jurisdiction working secondary security. On April 15, 2026, the off-duty police officer, not a SLMPD officer, was alerted to a suspect waving a handgun around at the corner of 9th and Olive. The officer located the suspect and started to follow the man. The suspect pulled his weapon and pointed the firearm at the officer. The officer took cover and lost sight of the armed suspect. The suspect is a black male, medium build, wearing an orange shirt, tan pants, brown studded belt with a large brown buckle, black boots, a red bookbag and white/silver headphones. This person should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this person is asked to call District 4 detectives at (314) 444-2500. Anyone with a tip who wants to remain anonymous and is interested in a possible cash reward can contact @STLRCS at 866-371-TIPS (8477). Only tips submitted to CrimeStoppers that lead to a felony arrest are eligible for CrimeStoppers’ rewards.
