Our thoughts have not changed much this morning. The greatest chance of severe thunderstorms will still be this evening as a cold front reaches the area.
More thunderstorms are on the way at various times tomorrow, with a chance for strong or severe storms especially in the evening. Be sure to stay weather aware! #MOwx #ILwx

When brothers Nicholas and Michael Menendez graduate from the city's police academy this week, they'll be following the footsteps of their mother, father and grandfather. Great read by @KatieKull1 in @stltoday on two recruits becoming @SLMPD officers. stltoday.com/news/local/crim…

We are working around the clock and with regional law enforcement partners regarding the recent surge of car break-ins happening across the metro. #SLMPD officers do not decide who is held and who isn’t though — that’s a different part of the criminal justice system.
Replying to @SLMPD
Live in South City, my car got broken into last week. Please keep releasing these people so they can continue to steal our stuff! Thank you!

#SLMPD detectives are working with metro law enforcement partners regarding car break-ins that have occurred over the last month. Gathering real-time intelligence and analysis is crucial. Remember, if you see something suspicious, say something. Do not approach. Call 911. #STL

We need your help, St. Louis. On May 24, 2025, 9-year-old Jordan Neal and his 10-year-old brother Richard Neal the third, were shot and killed in the 5600 block of Bircher. We believe the suspect was in this maroon Nissan shown in this video. Jordan died that night, and Richard passed away from his injuries a few months later, just days after his 11th birthday. We are looking for any information that can help identify the person responsible and vehicle used in this senseless act of violence and bring them to justice for the family of Jordan and Richard. If you know anything, call the SLMPD Homicide Division at 314-444-5371 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).

Seconds matter in an emergency. Today, the SLMPD is announcing plans to enhance regional public safety like never before with the Aerial Response Unit. Leveraging drone technology would improve 911 response times, align the SLMPD with other regional law enforcement agencies that are exploring or implementing drone technology, support search and rescue operations during a disaster, and give officers the real-time information they need during emergencies. The proposed purchase of six BRINC drones is powered by a partnership with the St. Louis Police Foundation and its donors.

Everyday, your #SLMPD officers respond to calls not knowing what people are armed with or what their intentions are. Today, we are thankful our officers are ok. Here are photos of the metal pole, knife and stun gun the man was armed with as he charged at officers before the officer-involved shooting.
