Greg talks about the marks of a good young man, then he answers questions about why someone would trust dispensationalism when it wasn’t around until the 19th century, and whether Muslims and Jews worship the same God as Christians. Listen now at shr.link/8c04c.

#STRask Can you give a more detailed explanation of the passage where Jesus says, “It is written that you are called gods” (John 10:34–36)? It seems like he’s downplaying the fact that he’s God by comparing himself to those who are merely called gods. Greg and Amy answer. Listen now at shr.link/g3cxh.

“The most important thing to me is the tremendous sense of safety I feel that I can deliver the responsibilities and the relationships on the team and outside of the team to somebody who has the sense of gravity of the responsibility and the capability of meeting that challenge.”

I’m thrilled to announce that after thoughtful planning and prayerful consideration, the Stand to Reason board has unanimously approved our senior apologist @AlanShlemon as STR’s President-Elect. For more than three decades, Stand to Reason has been helping people think more clearly about what they believe and why it matters. What began as a simple commitment to use my gifts as effectively as possible has grown into a dynamic spiritual enterprise that has reached millions of people around the globe through conversations, teaching, writing, and relationships. Along the way, many of you have become part of that story with us, and I’m deeply grateful for the encouragement, prayers, and support you’ve given to STR over the years. Now we are stepping into an invigorating new season for Stand to Reason. This decision marks an important milestone in the life of our work—but also a natural and strategically wise next step towards STR’s future. Alan has been a major player on our team for more than two decades. Many of you already know him through his speaking, writing, and years of faithful and productive leadership with STR. He has worked closely with me over the years as a personal disciple playing a significant role in shaping the fine and productive organization we have become. More importantly, Alan deeply understands what I often call the “STR DNA.” His leadership, wisdom, and commitment to our mission make him uniquely suited to serve as President-Elect and lead STR into the future. I could not be more confident in Alan’s abilities or more excited about what lies ahead for our organization. Over the coming year, Alan and I will be working even more closely together. As part of a gradual transition, we’ll be sharing responsibilities and strengthening relationships throughout the STR community. This will be a season of growing partnership, thoughtful planning, and preparation for STR’s next chapter. I also want you to know that I’m not planning on going anywhere soon. I remain fully engaged and committed to the work and all executive aspects of STR. I care deeply about this organization, and I’ll be steadily investing in its health, in its relationships, and in its future. As we move into this next season of strategic planning, Alan will play a pivotal role in shaping our direction and priorities for growth. Together, we are strengthening STR’s leadership so the kingdom work we’ve been doing will continue developing with focus, reach, and effectiveness for decades to come. I’m convinced that STR’s most fruitful years are still ahead of us, and I’m grateful that you are on this journey with us as we move “onward and upward” toward the greater things God has for us as a community. Thank you for your trust, your friendship, and your prayers. More to come soon. Warmly, @gregkoukl

#STRask Where does Scripture teach unambiguously that Jesus is God? Jesus also said he wasn’t God when being called a blasphemer, so when you say “unambiguously,” what do you actually mean? Greg and Amy answer. Listen now at shr.link/g2y0b.

Can you distinguishing between mere assertions and good arguments? Alan Shlemon encourages us not to be intimidated by persuasive-sounding articles, but instead to slow down, identify the claim, and examine if there are good reasons to believe it. x.com/i/broadcasts/1yJAPPnXA…

Although the word “homosexual” does not appear anywhere in the text, it’s perfectly clear what behavior Paul’s talking about in Romans 1. Paul writes that it’s so obvious God’s hand is involved in creation, that men are without excuse to believe there’s a God who made what we see. And then Paul says, but some people are rebellious. They reject the obvious evidence of God’s hand in creation, and instead of worshiping God the Creator, they worship the creation. Paul is making a design argument. He’s saying men abandoned the natural sexual function of a woman. So, for men, women are the natural appropriate sexual outlet. And for women, men are the appropriate sexual outlet. #STRask Greg and Amy answer questions about how the new earth ties in with the the teaching that we go to Heaven after we die, whether the Isaiah 65:17–25 passage about the new earth is metaphor, whether people in Heaven are aware of things happening on earth, and the prohibition against communicating with the dead.
