Second train journey into London in a year. Everything’s changed, well nearly everything. Delayed both ways! What a shower! @SW_Help @SirPeterHendy @networkrail
It's good to know that, with all the uncertainty surrounding coronavirus, there's one thing we can rely on - the fantastic shitness of @SW_Railway!Thanks to all at @SW_Help for being so reassuringly rubbish during this unsettling time.
This is not to diminish the importance of promoting #TimetoTalk Day but maybe @networkrail and @SW_Railway could consider the impact their terrible service has on those who are late for work, miss meetings, can’t plan child care and whose weekends are blighted by rail shut downs
So, in brief, “some” customers have suffered delays and that is the fault of @networkrail. Is Hoowoid for real? Now we know he is as deluded as his useless predecessor. No chance of him talking the @RMTunion out of strike action. Why would anyone believe a word he says? @SW_Help
Our new MD Mark Hopwood's main focus is to get more trains running on time. We still face some big challenges, but are gradually seeing signs of improvement. Find out more about what we’re doing here: southwesternrailway.com/plan…
Since then a significant stretch of the Clapham Junction area of railway may as well have fallen into the sea after destroying the journeys of millions of passengers. @networkrail@SW_Railway@SW_Help@grantshapps
🌊 Six years ago, a significant stretch of Devon’s railway collapsed into the sea after storms destroyed about 100m of sea wall.

Another triumphant morning for @SW_Railway@SW_Help@networkrail . Broken rails, failed points, cancelled trains, missed stations. What a shambles. And at the weekend they shut the service down to make improvements that will again cause days of pain and misery @swtrains_watch
As predicted, a weekend of disruption for services into @LondonWaterloo is followed by days of pain as the ‘improvements and upgrades’ leads to delays and missed stops. An utter disgrace @networkrail and @SW_Railway@SW_Help@grantshapps
So @RMTunion have voted for more strike action on @SW_Railway. What will @grantshapps do? Sit on his hands doing nothing. Management of @SW_Railway? Sit on hands doing nothing. The ripped off customer will again be left waiting to catch a reduced, overcrowded, shortened service.
So Mr Hopwood, how is your first week going with @SW_Railway@SW_Help ? Under your watch I have been delayed every day going one way or other - or both. Hope you travel to work on SWR so you REALLY understand the frustration @swtrains_watch @SirPeterHendy
And 5 out of 5 days messed up one way or another by @SW_Railway . Trains delayed and shortened today. Please tell me the only way is up Mr Hopwood @SW_Help@swtrains_watch
Delayrepay is another @SW_Railway scheme designed to make life as difficult as possible for the customer. But it is the only way of registering our dissatisfaction that has any impact on the company’s overpaid, underperforming executives @SW_Help @SirPeterHendy @swtrains_watch
And not forgetting of course the pitiful levels that are returned for delays, the overly arduous process of claiming or the absurd length of time it takes to get processed
Turns out we were right all along - @SW_Railway don’t know how to run a railway. Bankrupt of ideas, bankrupt of customer and staff relations and now nearly plain and simple bankrupt. Nothing could be worse than what we have now @SW_Help@swtrains_watch
South Western Railway (SWR) is on the brink of collapse after it reported a loss of £137m in its financial results up to March 31 2019 ow.ly/Jqag50xPpTX
@SW_Help I will write to Andy Mellors and the CS team that SWR should go back on strike. The service was so much better during the strikes! You could fire all guards that striked in the first place! @NetworkRailWssx the network is just no built for so many services!!!
Everything returns to normal. @SW_Railway management back behind their desks and train delays abound. Who will get the blame for their service failures today @SW_Help@swtrains_watch ? My money is on @networkrail
South Western passengers have just had one of the worst years in recent memory, yet we are still expected to pay more in 2020.
Reform of the rail industry and ticket pricing must become a priority of the government. Train travel shouldn't be this expensive. @SW_Help#railfares
Why not also hold hopeless management to account and fine the company for every strike day? Strikes only happen when employees become exasperated by employers. Train companies should also compensate passengers with a fare refund that matches percentage reduction in service.
Management of @SW_Railway must be held to account for this debacle. Pretty obvious to anyone who uses trains that guards’ role as operators of doors is necessary. To blame guards for strike is wrong. Good management leads to good industrial relations @SW_Help@swtrains_watch
