Animation covering next week, showing the extremely hot airmass spreading across much of Western Europe. Record breaking and dangerous heat likely. We stay firmly in the cooler air throughout.

The more tools in the wildfire toolbox the more chance services will have to succeed. Building robust partnerships can reduce the severity of wildfires @Hillsides_Wales @SWFireandRescue Wildfires: UK to set up new Mediterranean-style specialist units bbc.co.uk/news/science-envir…

We need your help to protect our local communities by following these simple steps ⬇️ - Have BBQs and campfires in designated areas. - Pick up litter - even glass bottles can start a fire. - Dispose of cigarettes carefully. Read more on our website: orlo.uk/ipjuE

Just a reminder on how to react if you see a #wildfire around the Belfast Hills.
As we enter wildfire season please remember to report wildfires via 999 ASAP.  If it is safe you can also share pictures with us to show where it probably started and local wind direction, which in the hills can be highly variable. More info 👇 bit.ly/3TvPTmU

Excellent work by attending crews limited the impact of this incident yesterday, but this highlights the environmental impacts of #Wildfires. For further advice on preventing them, take a look here: dsfire.gov.uk/safety/outdoor…
We are sad to report a fire at Dunsford nature reserve yesterday. Thanks to @DSFireUpdates who were at the scene quickly and the public who reported the smoke. This reserve is home to rare species, including pearl-bordered fritillary butterflies. buff.ly/427kFFe (1/2)

With a much welcomed focus on the risk of illness to firefighters from fire contamination. It's worth remembering the risk still persists long after the fire is out. Especially for investigators, who spend hours digging in the dirt wlos.com/news/news-13-invest… #fbudecon #firefighter
