Meanwhile the Box Office is being dominated by Obsession - an Original Horror Movie. Also, to many people, quality is more important than originality (which is a reasonable perspective). Thankfully, Obsession is both.
"Where are the original films" Steven Spielberg gave you one but y'all went to see Scary Movie instead 🤣

What's your favorite movie from the 2000s?

The discourse sadly doesn’t talk enough about several layers of horror. More talk should be given to how terrifyingly great the Uncanny Valley is as a consequence of the Monkey’s Paw, which also delivers borderline cosmic horror implications when it comes to the loss of autonomy
What Obsession opinion will have you like this?

Obsession is a really smart movie, with a lot of really cool scares. And it dips into many different facets of horror like the Uncanny Valley, Monkey’s Paw and borderline Cosmic Horror. Whilst doing a great job blending fantastical elements with horror that is eerily relatable.
I genuinely don't understand this, and not even on a contrarian hater level (movie's pretty good) but on a "there have been countless bleak horror movies from emerging auteurs in the past decade, what the fuck is this one doing that's putting it in another stratosphere" level

Describing Fallout as “the Skyfall of Mission Impossible” hurts on levels unfathomable. Do not equate one of the best & tightest action films ever to pretentious gunk that assassinates its characters, bleeds plot issues & poorly reheats GoldenEye’s nachos, amongst other sins.

Yes. Absolutely! The film where Bond, Q and New M get the Old M killed because they’re idiots who allow an idiot ‘Home Alone but worse’ plan is definitely the “greatest James Bond movie.”
I’m my opinion, the greatest James Bond movie is Skyfall. It took the franchise into deeper and darker dimensions. What do you think is the greatest James Bond film ever made?

Nah, we should get more films like Minus One & Shin Godzilla instead of MonsterVerse slop. Also, Minus One & Shin aren’t the same and if you get bored of them, that’s your problem. They’ve done way more innovative things with their premises than the MV. Minus One in particular.
Toho elitists need to understand that if every Godzilla was like Minus One or Shin Godzilla people would get bored and stop watching them. A franchise can't just keep doing the same thing over and over. Having variety is amazing and the Monsterverse gives said variety.

Sincere adventure storytelling with interesting and nuanced things to say made by interesting filmmakers, versus corny, shallow slop made by a one-trick pony.

I finally finished all of House MD. Brilliant! We’re just not getting a character this absurdly funny, yet tragically nuanced ever again. Also, I would like to Thank this post for sending me down this insane, emotionally damaging rabbit hole. Life is pain and everybody dies.

I don’t think there’s ever been a movie more undeserving of its prestige than Skyfall Last Jedi levels of character assassination & insult. Every positive talking point can be disproved by its own events. Pay attention next time instead of parroting the ideas some hack gave you

I’m so glad Gladiator, Joker and The Thing never got sequels or a prequel. Could you imagine how awful those would be hahaha…

I watched Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Marvel, DC, 007, Mission Impossible, Scream, and many others get demolished. Some multiple times. On top of live-action remakes, cynicism & slop. Heaven forbid more than 3 Seasons of a creative show that makes me smile. RIP Smiling Friends

> Bond fails at everything > Gets multiple people killed, including M > Villain is flanderisation of Heath Ledger’s Joker > Devalues Bond Gadgets > Hates its interesting Bond Girl (quite mean-spiritedly) > M dies due to a stupid Home Alone plan > The “greatest Bond sequel ever”?
SKYFALL is the greatest Bond sequel ever. Imagine a world where Quantum of Solace didn’t exist and this was direct sequel to Casino Royale. This depressed, worn-down Bond would have fit much better, considering he had just lost Vesper at the end of Royale.

I started The Night Manager. What is Hugh Laurie’s problem?! Why is he such a good actor? Richard Roper is a top tier villain. Sorry, he clears most Bond Villains easily. A damn-near perfect embodiment of the worst of humanity, with absolutely sensational screen presence!

Please for the love of all that is holy can we get this man in a project with writers who aren’t hacks or complete idiots!
“All the Writers Went Home—Except Him.” — Why Henry Cavill Is Still Correcting 300 Lines of Lore at 4 AM for the Amazon Series. While the writers clocked out, Henry Cavill stayed behind — at 4 AM, red pen in hand, guarding Warhammer 40,000 like sacred text. Correcting lore, armor colors, even pronunciations, he’s not just starring in Amazon’s series — he’s defending grimdark purity from dilution. This isn’t method acting. It’s a siege. The Grey might actually have my favourite final scene to any film. A story about what it means to live, and not merely survive. This may sound corny, but in a sense it’s the closest cinematic equivalent to that clip of the Penguin heading towards the mountains.
