In the new Senate key committees will likely be chaired by Wyden, Sanders and Sherrod Brown. In 2009 those slots were held by Max Baucus, Kent Conrad and Chris Dodd. “Committee chairs are going to be aggressive," Wyden tells me. "The dynamics have changed a lot since 2009."

It's good to see Biden and Dems shedding deficit-phobia. Some reasons for this: They got burned by bad-faith GOP deficit fearmongering under Obama, and Dem Senate committee chairs are more progressive than back then. @RonWyden tells me times are a-changin: washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

Today, in a bipartisan vote, the House voted to impeach and hold President Trump accountable. Now, the process continues to the Senate—and I hope they’ll deal with their Constitutional responsibilities on impeachment while also working on the other urgent business of this nation.

The incitement of these extremists must end—immediately—and the enablers of this violence, including President Trump, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Sen. Ted Cruz, and Sen. Josh Hawley, should no longer serve in their offices and should take the responsible action by resigning.

Thread. I wrote an op-ed published today in California's Mercury News, discussing how it's time to stop runaway political spending by foreign-influenced U.S. corporations. California's Proposition 22, which just passed, is the most recent example why. 1/3 mercurynews.com/2020/12/15/o…

A sample of how judges have reacted to the GOP's wild legal claims: Out of MI: "...incorrect and not credible." Out of PA: "I do not understand how the integrity of the election was affected.” Out of PA again, speaking for all of us: "I’m sorry, then what’s your problem?”

Biden’s COVID task force just hosted a call where the made clear the inability to do transition work with the Trump team is dire. “We do not have access to official government data,” they explained, saying they’re relying, in part, on public sets, like COVID-19 tracking project
