It’s 3 am on the last day of @GovInslee ‘s 12 years as WA’s governor, and I’m up feeding my 1 week old daughter. The best thing I can say about Gov is that my daughter’s rights, heath, opportunities, and future are best protected in WA due to him. And it’s not just climate…

And it would not be right to talk about Gov’s service without mentioning Trudi, who spent these 12 years serving the state and advocating for many of Gov’s accomplishments that will impact my daughter and other women in WA for decades to come.

It was the honor of a lifetime to work for Jay Inslee. I’m so proud every day to be a part of pushing his climate legacy forward at @evergreenaction, but nothing tops my gratitude to him for what he has done for my daughter and her future. So thank you, Gov.

What's the deal with Washington state?* (*assuming this isn't a we-counted-all-the-blue-ballots-first illusion?)

By rejecting Initiative 2117, voters in Washington State sustained an ambitious climate law that caps carbon emissions and uses money from major polluters to invest in environmental programs. The vote was being watched by political leaders across the country.

Speaking of @GovInslee's legacy, WA voters resoundingly reject a scare tactic-fueled campaign to repeal his signature climate law.
NEW: Initiative 2117, a politically-motivated Initiative to repeal a landmark piece of climate legislation in WA, is defeated. WA rejected the misinformation and scare tactics peddled by Republicans and special interests, and overwhelmingly voted for climate.

What a legacy. After 12 incredible years of leadership from @JayInslee, WA will be handed off to another Dem governor @BobFergusonAG.
Good news: Washington has elected climate leader @BobFergusonAG as Governor. Over the past 12 years, @GovInslee has been one of the most consequential governors on climate in U.S. history. Thank you, Gov. Inslee, for everything. Here's to more climate leadership in WA.

New Mexico had the third fastest clean energy job growth rate in the country in 2023.
Trump once again commits to “terminate” the Inflation Reduction Act on day one. Believe him. He’s promising a full-scale assault on climate progress—even as climate change is fueling increasingly deadly storms, wildfires, and floods. We cannot afford to go back.

As candidates begin to make their closing arguments, @KamalaHarris is out here championing batteries and electric vehicles manufactured by union labor. Yes and yes.
.@KamalaHarris is going to make sure the future of the auto industry, "from advanced batteries and EVs and are not just invented, but built right here in America by American union workers."

HUGE!
🚨 BREAKING: SCOTUS just cleared the way for @POTUS' carbon pollution standards on power plants to go into effect. The rules are one of the Biden-administration's most consequential climate actions. This is HUGE! washingtonpost.com/politics/…

If my slogan was "Make America Great Again," I'd double down on investments like this instead of trying to claw them back from communities like Butler County, PA.
Workers in Butler County, Pennsylvania make the steel that braces our grid. Now, we're helping their manufacturing process become cleaner and more efficient. That means the mill that built America's past will forge its future.

Hurricane recovery shouldn't be political, but when Republicans vote against disaster relief funds and deny climate change exists, they make it political. So let's look at what each candidate would actually do to help Americans hit by climate-fueled disasters.

Harris was the deciding vote on the most important piece of climate legislation in U.S. history—actually taking on the root cause of the problem. And she is committed to continuing to drive down pollution by investing in clean energy across sectors. kamalaharris.com/issues/#:~:….

TL/DR; Everything in Donald Trump's plan will strip Americans of our ability to protect our families, our communities, and ourselves from climate change. Kamala Harris will take on climate change and help Americans prepare for and recover from climate-fueled disasters.
