Median rent in Brooklyn also reached an all-time high: $4,347
These astronomical rents disprove the myth that no-one wants to live in NYC. They also show how far we have to go to solve the worst housing affordability crisis in our city's history.

NYC's response to the Knicks' run is an explicit rejection of Trumpism. Civic engagement is at an all-time high. Fearmongering about public safety was crushed by the hundreds of spontaneous watch parties. Unimaginably diverse groups rallying behind a sense of collective identity.

Little Lord Fauntleroy woke up this morning & surveyed the ruins: 63 arrests, four stabbings, a shooting, fires, vandalism, looting, absolute filth & general chaos, and concluded the real story was how wonderful the 'celebrations' were.
This jackass has an almost supernatural ability to deny reality whilst taking a victory lap as NYC (and all who serve & protect it) were steamrolled last night. And this flaccid post is his heartfelt show of gratitude.
Insufferable.
Thank you to the thousands of City workers who kept New York running throughout the Knicks’ Finals run as well last night after yesterday’s celebrations.
To the members of the NYPD, FDNY, EMS, DSNY, DOT, and every City worker who showed up, did their job, and helped keep New Yorkers safe: I cannot thank you enough. Whether you were responding to emergencies, staffing events, directing traffic, cleaning our streets, or working behind the scenes in ways most people never see, your dedication made this historic moment possible for millions of New Yorkers.
By the time many of us woke up this morning, the city was ready for another day because of your work. I join millions of your fellow New Yorkers in saying thank you.

Another fun fact, Mamdani was naturalized in 2018 at the ripe age of 26. He wasn’t even a citizen or anywhere near the planning process when the World Cup was finalized.
