It’d be funny if Leon Rose finally did a press conference.

Mike Brown won a championship during the term covered by this contract. He came to Sacramento, made them normal for two seconds, got fired, and they immediately revert back into the Kangz in the most brutal fashion immediately.
The Sacramento Kings have agreed with Golden State assistant Mike Brown on a four-year contract to become the franchise’s next coach, sources tell ESPN.

This is gonna break NYT records the New York public schools are just gonna turn this into their new sixth grade history textbook.
It's as good a time as any to announce the book I've been working on with Simon & Schuster for the past year and a half: UNDER THE BRIGHT LIGHTS: THE REVIVAL OF THE NEW YORK KNICKS. More info to come.

He was a top-five level player when he played this season but the injuries and aging curve make it reasonable to project him below that moving forward.
Is there any questioning by people that Giannis is no longer top-5 player in the league?? The way he’s being talked about makes me thing people must be WAYYYY lower on him than I am.

All four games thus far have been toss ups. Odds of winning three straight coin flips is 12.5%. I'll bump that up to 15% just because they have two home games.
Give me the % chance you think they got of a 3-1 comeback?

Two interesting trade premises for Michael Porter Jr. proposed here: • MPJ for Julius Randle and draft capital • MPJ for Jerami Grant, Shaedon Sharpe, and draft capital. Randle could see his value rehabbed in BK similar to MPJ while helping Brooklyn in the short-term and flipped later. Portland idea is probably hinging on your belief in Sharpe as Grant is probably not as flippable as Randle.

The counterpoint is that all of those teams have the means to acquire such a pick pretty easily. Like if Boston is dangling Jaylen Brown I’d imagine they could get No. 8 from Atlanta if needed.
The Heat are able to offer the 13th pick. Boston, Portland, Minnesota, Orlando can’t offer anything close to that in this draft, and it sounds like the Bucks want two picks in this year’s lottery.

Their long-term closing lineup moving forward will almost certainly be Harper, Castle, Wemby and two shooters. MAYBE Carter Bryant gets so good on defense that he closes. But if they do a Fox/Herro trade, I don't think it's with any plans to make Herro a permanent closer.
Just because Wemby is so good defensively doesn’t mean they can just throw out whoever with him there. Fox’s offense has been problematic lately but arguably the biggest problem with them closing games with him over Harper has been defense.

The goal is beating OKC and San Antonio. That's it. They aren't doing that with Randle and Gobert. You could make the bigger play for Giannis but I don't think you could so and maintain a good enough team around him and Ant. Sometimes you have to take a step back and regroup.
People be like “ just become ass and hope the team randomly develops their way into becoming good” 😭😭

My honest opinion with this is that I actually do agree with it. I'll take it a step further: my plan as the Timberwolves would be to start Beringer and Naz Reid next season. Take a step back. Develop your youth. Trade Randle and Gobert for assets you can use later.
The Timberwolves have made Joan Beringer and Jaden McDaniels untouchable in trade talks, per @TheAthletic “considering McDaniels’ immense value alongside Edwards as an elite perimeter defender, as well as his impressive postseason performance, team sources say Minnesota has indicated that McDaniels is off limits. Per those sources, the same goes for 19-year-old big man Joan Beringer.” (Via nytimes.com/athletic/7353314…)

I don't think it's feasible for Minny to get Giannis without trading McDaniels. But this is absolutely how I'd be posturing if I were them and I was set on Giannis (I'm not), because maybe then when you compromise by putting him on the table, you could at least keep Naz Reid.

The answer is no but I also don't think it's realistic to say that 30 teams should shun every overpaid player. At a certain point, you just need to get good players, and the ones who are affordable aren't always the ones who are accessible. A cheaper version of Fox costs picks.
But is he as good as that contract pays him??? Because hes on that deal for 4 years, and there's no escape hatch.

My favorite De’Aaron Fox trade is Tyler Herro and Nikola Jovic (assuming Miami doesn’t get Giannis). Heat get Bam’s college teammate, upgrade at point guard and get someone who fits with Norm Powell. They get better without sacrificing Ware, their picks or future flexibility. The Spurs get off of the Fox contract before it becomes unmovable. They turn one of their three guards into a great shooter which was an area of need for them anyway. Wemby is the one big in the NBA who could protect Herro defensively in the playoffs, and Herro lives out his destiny as an overqualified sixth man. The Spurs need another ball-handler behind Castle and Harper, they just can’t pay him the max. If you can extend Herro at a reasonable price, it’s an awesome fit.

Because despite how he’s looked while injured against the two best teams in the NBA, Fox is way better than Herro and if you can be like a 50-win team without sacrificing your picks or Ware that’s a much better place to be than the Play-In purgatory they’re currently trapped in.
Why on Earth is Miami doing this, other than "hey, Bam and Fox were college teammates"???

This reminds me of the person who went to Super Bowl media day and asked the players if they considered it a "must win game."
De’Aaron Fox says the Spurs need to win tomorrow
