Strong statement of solidarity from the UAE’s key foreign policy voice with Kuwait and Bahrain

Bader al Saif is a must follow analyst for anyone trying to understand the Iran War’s impact on Kuwait and the broader region
Iran attacks Kuwait…again. What does that mean for #Kuwait, the region, and the parameters of the conflict? My two cents on the BBC.

Ireland has emerged as a key enabler of Russian aggression against Ukraine Irish neutrality is not what it seems The most striking example is Ireland's critical role in alumina supply chains for Rusal Rusal was founded by oligarch Oleg Deripaska

This article is a must-read. Much like the debates over Russian energy in the past, Ireland is making the claim that sanctions on these alumina transfers hurts Europe more than Russia x.com/KyivIndependent/status…

⚡️Data reveals Irish alumina factory exporting more product to Russia than government claimed. Ireland's prime minister claimed that including Aughinish Alumina in the EU's next sanctions would harm Europe more than Russia, but evidence shows otherwise. kyivindependent.com/data-rev…

There's also a migration dimension: 14,000 Russians have been granted access to Ireland since the 2022 Ukraine invasion This gives them access to the UK and hostile agents are included in the mix Austria gets more heat but Ireland is a weak link irishtimes.com/ireland/2026/…

Iraq did not insert itself into the Iran War The PMF has consistently been the hardest proxy for Iran to mobilize in regional engagements Nonetheless, Iraq is facing a major energy crisis with summer electrical blackouts on the horizon

⛽️ The oil superpower has suddenly run out of gasoline Huge lines have formed at gas stations across Crimea. Some stations have already run dry, while others are limiting sales to just 20 liters per customer. It turns out that producing oil and actually having gasoline at the pump are not always the same thing. 😊

100% Duqm is a strategically vital investment destination in the Gulf and not a trojan horse for Chinese power projection or Russian/Iranian influence

Realists in Washington know that a neutral, stable dialogue bridge is irreplaceable in a volatile region. Excellent analysis (and indeed, that seamless transition post-2020 under HM Sultan Haitham is proof of that deep internal stability!).

Thank you very much for your feedback on my analysis of Oman's regional role I analyzed these dynamics in depth during my trip to Oman in April/May 2025
Replying to @SamRamani2
An exceptionally balanced and accurate breakdown, @SamRamani2 . Framing Oman as an 'offshore balancer' hits the nail on the head. For decades, Muscat's quiet, steady diplomacy has been a vital safety valve for global security, not an adversarial stance.

Duqm has much less Chinese, Russian or Iranian presence than beleived (I saw this with my own eyes) It is also a reliable energy storage hub and is attracting Saudi and Kuwaiti capital. Add renewables, green hydrogen and space to the mix, and Duqm is a smart city in the making

While Omani coordination with Iran and strait control proposals with Iran rankle the White House, its important to see the big picture Oman is much more often a partner for the U.S. and its allies than an adversarial thorn in their side /END
