Replying to @imVkohli
@imVkohli @BCCI I still hope that Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Washington Sundar are picked for SA tests. It will be another blunder like WT20. Nobody to bat at 7. Can't trust Pujara, Rahane, Ishant & Saha in SA. Even Mayank & Shreyas have issues vs pace, bounce & swing.

As a casual viewer, I would like to see not just what players achieved, but also how many opportunities they used to achieve it. For every player.

One issue with NBA stats for the casual viewer I have is it tells how many points, rebounds, etc. but it doesn't tell you how many point scoring attempts or how many blocking attempts. A team has only chance to score 50% of the time when they are on the attack, rest 50% defending

So, if you score 30 points but score on only 50% of your attempts, you may having a detrimental effect on the team.. That average per team and individually for every player also needs to be shown IMO..

@cricchimp Sir, you watch a lot more NBA than I do. I only watch NBA highlights once in a while. Have been doing for last 30 years. Back then used to watch full games in the 90s. Very casual viewer. Do they tell us shooting attempts, blocking attempts, pass interruptions, etc?

Jalen Brunson took a paycut and secured a roster that could win a championship, and as a result he’s now a legend. James Harden regularly team hops to secure every last dollar. Mental makeup separates Guys That Were Very Good and the greats.

Their diaspora is huge in France, Belgium, & the Netherlands, and their own grassroots system is capable enough of supplying players to Europe's top leagues. It's all about collectivism. They were also FIFA U-20 World Cup champions - Ouahbi was coach that time.
Brazil still depends on individual brilliance. This usage of talent from Spanish development system have strengthened Morocco..

France between 98-2002 were very successful. But as soon as Zidane was injured , they got knocked out by Senegal as guys like Henry, Wiltord, Trezeguet were found to be one trick ponies. Zidane returned in 2006 and France looked like a proper outfit again.

Can you win 50/50s, can you link up when your midfielders are struggling to keep possession, can you pass accurately, can you make it easier for your team mates to do their jobs?

Anybody can have some success at a big club in a weak league. What matters in WCs is can you run for 90 mins to stop attacks, do u have the brains to get in shape to prevent attacks from all situations, can you be unpredictable, can you retain possession, can you head the ball

Anyway, difference between Barca 2008-2012 and Spain 2012 was Messi. Outside the box, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and co. created space for the tiki-taka but inside the box Messi would create space for himself & others by ball control & dribbling. Barca could afford to be more attacking

Pirlo used to intercept all the cutbacks and through balls and used to link up all over the pitch. Never wasted possession. Never caught out of shape. Del piero was a terrific header of the ball and could play anywhere in the opposition half to link up attacks.

Morocco with the lead after a really aggressive start..fab through pass and nice finish. Most of the early aggression was from the flanks. The goal comes on the counter, right through the center.
