I was dressed exactly like this when I was run over in Moycullen in broad daylight.
The factors that most strongly influence cyclist safety are driver speed, enforcement levels, road layout, and safe cycling infrastructure, not what we are wearing. A ๐งต

Brutalist, cheap to maintain. A huge disappointment.
Hopefully all of our elected officials will raise queries into how this cost โฌ7m and seems to have deviated from the original plans significantly.
Council shouldn't get off lightly delivering this crap.

From Monday 18th August 2025, Cork City Council will introduce filtered permeability on York Hill which will be closed to through vehicular traffic between Wellington Road and Summerhill North.
To support sustainable travel in the city, two-way pedestrian and cycle through access on York Hill will be retained. Vehicular access will be maintained to residential properties on York Terrace accessed via Summerhill North.

Hi @corkcitycouncil !
Why are you designing cycling infrastructure in 2025 that leads to direct conflict between bike users and pedestrians, and then spits bike users directly back onto the road before a narrow bridge with zero priority?

Machine for tickets broken yet again and turned off with not even a simple paper notice to inform passengers of alternatives.
Passengers deserve better. Visitors deserve better. So, so embarrassing.

No less than 8 vehicles parked across the bus lane for the night, and paths blocked too.

Drury St car park has 300 cycle parking spaces, including cargo bike spaces and bicycle maintenance area with basic tools for repairs. The facility is monitored by CCTV security cameras and cycle parking is available free of charge 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. #cycledublin #bikeparking

Missing about 20 bollards at either side, empty spaces where the bollards once were now allows ridiculous illegal parking like this on this tiny laneway EVERY single day.

Add to that this driver heading against the one-way system illegally to access Cornmarket St.
Paul Street is one way for obvious reasons.
Someone will be injured or worse here.
This street shouldn't even have cars, local access only with tags and automated bollards by Daunt Sq
