8 November 2007. Anglican cleric Chad Varah died (aged 95). He founded The Samaritans help line to help people contemplating suicide. He answered the first ever call made to the brand new helpline. A person whose life made a real difference to preserving the lives of others.

🚨NEW Rail operator Northern is taking two more people to court on Monday after they used their Railcard before 10am - just days after @transportgovuk ordered the operator to review similar cases.

In a heroic move, Gisele Pelicot fought to make public the videos of her unconscious rapes at the hands of over 50 men and won. She wanted the public “to look rape straight in the eyes.” Shame, she said, must change sides —from the victims to the perpetrators. Police found more than 20,000 videos and photographs of Gisele drugged and being raped by various men on her husband’s devices in a folder titled “Abuse.” On Friday, the judge complied with Gisele’s demand and showed the evidence “necessary for the manifestation of the truth.” 12 rape videos and 10 photos were shown over the courtroom’s three flat screens and projected into the overflow room for members of the public while the perpetrators in the videos sat in shame watching their own despicable criminal acts being exposed.

Towards the end of his testimony, Prof Fong makes the heartfelt case that to understand the Covid impact on the NHS you have to go *beyond* data - "there is more to know than you can count". His testimony was *so important* /END

Here Prof Fong explains how every nurse he met was traumatised by watching patients die, being only able to hold up ipads to their relatives and how it went against their normal practice of trying to ensure a dignified death, with family there.

The total of hospitality & gifts *declared* by Keir Starmer since 2019 is £12,500 *less* than Boris Johnson accepted from Lord Brownlow for home decor. He tried to keep this *secret* by claiming he couldn't remember who'd paid & had lost the phone containing all relevant messages
