Does anyone else feel like Custom House Square is massively underused?
It’s one of Belfast’s best public spaces architecturally, but outside the occasional concert or film set it mostly sits empty.
No seating. No café culture. No everyday activity.
What’s frustrating is that
@CommunitiesNI is the custodian of the square, not
@belfastcc so it often feels disconnected from wider city centre animation efforts.
Could be a brilliant civic space with tables, chairs, coffee carts, greenery and somewhere people actually want to spend time.
What would you add to the square?
