Why does age make COVID-19 more dangerous? Our latest study shows molecular shifts with age, revealing how changes in immune signaling drive enhanced inflammation across the immune cell landscape. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

We analyzed patients who had type I IFN autoantibodies. They showed the most extreme phenotype. We even detected similar shift in signaling in young (ISGs) and adult hamsters (S100A genes) infected with COVID-19, suggesting that we discovered a general aging-induced concept.

Biomarker, diagnostic studies and clinical trials The #NKSG is conducting in-depth analysis of potential biomarkers and diagnostics for both #LongCovid and #MECFS. In addition, 5 treatment trials are expected to conclude by the end of 2024. More trials are currently in planning.
