Proud of our latest paper in @JAppliedEcology 🥹 Take home messages: * Surface complexity matters for alpha and beta diversity * Restored marshes are deficient in both complexity and diversity. * Intervention is feasible and effective doi.org/10.1111/1365-2664.14…

We’re opening a new round of dyslexia assessment bursaries for young people aged 12–21. Every child deserves the chance to understand their dyslexia, but for many low-income families, a diagnosis is out of reach. Thanks to @TheoPaphitis and the amazing @RymanStationery team, we can offer assessments to young people who would otherwise go without. A diagnosis can change a child’s confidence, their education, and their future. Applications are open until the 9 January 2026. Full details are on our website bit.ly/4r50xS2 #DyslexiaAssessment #Fundraising #Application #Bursary

Well said Simon ! As a dyslexic academic I see amazing potential in my neurodiverse students yet.. there potential isn't realised as well/much as it could. Indeed I can see how I offer a different perspective to HE all power to diverse thinkers.
Replying to @WoodinRivers
It's the dyslexic kid who might work as an office manager instead of being a labourer, the dyscalculia kid who might be an engineer instead of an office worker, its the next potential tech genius not dying on the streets of an overdose. SEND is investing in future prosperity.

A huge thanks to @Bill_Sutherland for these. Some learners need and greatly appreciated audio/visual reinforcement (myself included). A great compliment to your degree or teaching! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Are you a student studying ecology or conservation? Do you lecture ecology or conservation? I created this playlist for you and hope it is useful. youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…

Just a Thursday support message for all #neurodiverse #freshers at any #university - your diversity will help your cohort. You will see opportunities others don't. Be proud and don't be afraid to ask if you see an opportunity that still fulfils learning outcomes.

This might be hard to perceive but this is a meter and a half below the surface of a marsh this should really be waist deep in anoxic mid but it's solid underfoot. Really crazy
39
Hard to see but this is a 3m wide saltmarsh with much of its vertical zonation within this photo. Coastal squeeeeeeeeeze

I do enjoy a soil horizon photo

#Windermere in the news is infuriating. Where, when and how to warn companies and public of impending issues could cost as little as £60/70k and a maintenance contact. @timfarron it's just a matter of who pays. The Lake deserves better I hope it achieves juridic personhood.

But what do I know... I'm only a former resident and expert in real time data monitoring and environment survey who has costed it. Too many stakeholders selfishly hoarding data for own purposes. The Lake deserves it's data.

Wetlands are some of the most productive engines of the planet’s biodiversity. Protecting wetlands means protecting life and their survival is directly linked to the future of our planet’s biodiversity. #WetlandsForOurCommonFuture #WetlandsMatter
