When it comes to performance, #Object_Pascal is a preferable programming language for computer #simulations in life sciences. @SERGIO_M_T @freepascaldev @LazarusDev @lazarusforum
Which programming language is fit for high-performance computer simulations in biomedical #cybernetics? We found that #Free_Pascal generates faster code than S/R and #Python. Interestingly, Object #Pascal even outperforms #Swift and C . doi.org/10.14201/adcaij.3176…

Not fully lost. Delphi developers still enjoy them.

The Ada/Pascal style Enumerations that are strictly typed yet have an explicit and elegant connection to the arrays and for-loops are the Lost Art of Programming.

Historically, #C was not always the default language for writing operating systems. There is a rich tradition of operating systems written in #Pascal, with the probably best-known example being classical Mac OS (not to be confused with macOS, that is written in Objective C). Up until System 7, Mac OS was nearly entirely written in Pascal. Other operating systems written in Pascal include #LisaOS and the #Lillith system software. The operating system for the famous #XeroxStar was written in Mesa, which is a modular programming language of the Pascal family.

Lazarus v3.2 is now ready to download. Built with FreePascal 3.2.2, it's mostly a bugfix release, but hey, bugs is bugs and they're worth getting rid of, especially in something as compelling as the Lazarus IDE/GUI builder. #programming #FPC #pascal forum.lazarus.freepascal.org…

The problem with most web applications is that their JavaScript load is so big that they are as fast as 1980's terminal applications.
