My partner’s 6 year old kid just got denied ESTA to go to the US. Everyone else in the family got approved, except her. Our flight is in 2 days. Was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime to Disneyland and Yellowstone. Why would a kid be denied and what can we do? #esta #visa #USA

My latest "Behind the Scenes" @nautilusmag interview is with @SciTech_Cat! Here she's talking about walking high up on the bridge of the Arecibo Telescope (before it eventually collapsed) for her book on neutron stars. Fascinating discussion! Watch here: vimeo.com/nautilusmag/katia-…

Great analysis. Indeed, the Lineker debate is at the very heart of a much bigger crisis. Just remember Orwell, who used to work at the BBC: “If liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear." bbc.com/news/uk-64929269

"The heaviest precisely known neutron star is 2.08 solar masses, and a few more are above two solar masses—more massive than some theorists had thought possible," notes physicist Katia Moskvitch @SciTech_Cat. Click for this and more from Nautilus. bit.ly/3xQK09W

Make way for Osprey. @IBM’s latest 433 qubits quantum chip sees light today – jetting us closer to when quantum computers will help humanity tackle what used to be unsolvable problems. Soon, we’ll have a quantum-centric supercomputer - that’s the future! research.ibm.com/blog/next-w…

In 2009, @Leo_Gross_IBM & his #IBMResearch team made history. They imaged a single molecule, pentacene, with atomic resolution for the first time - & made the stickman from chemistry classes come alive.

“This prize is an encouragement to young people – the prize would not be possible without more than 100 young people who worked with me over the years.” – Anton Zeilinger during the press conference where he was announced as one of the 2022 #NobelPrize laureates in physics.
