As an undergrad I had a senior thesis project looking at x-linked indel in drosophila and smushed some salivary glands to look at the polytene chromosomes. 24 years doing it in blow flies!

NSF IUCRC program indicates return on investment for industry partners is $42 for each $1 contributed - well, @CEIF_InsectAg is projecting $86 return/$1 invested during 2024, which is basically $2.1M of work for $25K invested by an industry partner @SciencePicard @hwillia8
