Thanks to all the brilliant volunteers who came to the Northern Damselfly pond management day with Atholl Estates Ranger Service at Guay Ponds last week. We found larvae, newts, toads & frogs and made a big difference to the ponds 🐸#volunteering#Cairngorms#NorthernDamselfly
Monadh Mor near Tore and Abernethy NNR - both fantastic sites for rare dragonflies including White-faced Darters. There were no dragons at the weekend but we did see Crested tits!
Another date for your diary, organised by David Hill of Butterfly Conservation. The Scottish Entomological Gathering will take place at Mar Lodge by Braemar from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June 2025. The gathering will be a joint event with the Coleopterists Society. 1/3 thread

National Trust for Scotland will be the hosts and there will have access to facilities at the lodge as a base for the weekend. For accommodation there are local hotels and B&Bs in Braemar as well as a hostel and campsite.
