The worst part of it isn’t the waiting for a year or two to find work. It’s that the longer you are unemployed the less employable you become. Age catches up and it becomes even harder to find any entry-level job.
A friend of a friend’s committed suicide because he has been unemployed for over a year, struggling to get even an interview let alone a job. He jumped in front of a trained. Left a note. I dont even know him personally and it just broke my heart. The “shame” of it was too much.
