Mary contacted my office after struggling to receive any correspondence from the Internal Revenue Service regarding her late mother's tax return. After she reached out, my team worked directly with the IRS to resolve the issue and help secure her refund within two months. Navigating the loss of a loved one is difficult enough, and no one should have to face government bureaucracy and red tape on their own. Are you having trouble with a federal agency? Reach out to my office, we're ready to help.

Political power in DC is shaped by the fact that losers cry louder than winners cheer. As clean energy comes to dominate, they have more to lose from climate denying paleolithic knuckledraggers. This will not be their first flex. eenews.net/articles/renewabl…

It's easy to forget this 59 years later, but Israel is an occupying power in the West Bank. Article IV of the Geneva Convention spells out specific obligations of such actors, and this is a direct violation - not for the first time. nytimes.com/2026/06/11/world…

Illinoisans have lost devastating sums of money to crypto-enabled fraud. Just last year, the FBI reported $333 million in losses due to crypto scams. That’s why I’ve introduced the bipartisan Stop Crypto ATM Scams Act to strengthen consumer protections, increase transparency, and help prevent fraudsters from exploiting vulnerable Americans.

Nehls: Donald Trump is the best thing to happen to this country in a hundred years. He was born a very special baby. I bet the doctors said, “I can tell this is a very special baby.”

7.5 years into this job and I've gotten reasonably good at Congressional procedure. But yesterday, I let the good people of IL-6 down on account of my failures with respect to Scripps Spelling Bee procedures. I promise to do better next time. rollcall.com/2026/06/11/orth…

I'll have more to say on this later but this is a very good thread. What the CFTC has done on gambling websites (don't call them prediction markets!) is bonkers. It creates no economic value; it just siphons the vigorish for the house. Nothing good comes of this.
Interesting nugget in the CFTC's proposal on prediction markets: the agency says it can only block an event contract on public-interest grounds AFTER it's been listed. So it seems like markets can offer war, terrorism, etc. contracts for 90 days while the CFTC reviews them.

This brings back memories of John Starks dunking on Jordan - the energy, the sense of the impossible, the image. And a lot of NY kids who are about to get new posters on their walls, if that’s still a thing…

Chris Wright did not get his job because of his independence, nor his intellect, nor his understanding of energy policy. He got his job because he is a bootlocking shill. Kudos to @EmiliaSykesOH for exposing himm
here's the full clip of Rep. Emilia Sykes's brilliant line of questioning that made Chris Wright squirm by confronting him with the completely unhinged comments Trump just made in the Oval Office about inflation and the war in Iran

This is a window into how Trump sees energy policy and comes very close to admission of a crime. First because he thinks it's good when oil is expensive because you can make more selling it. Second because he seems to claim that the US is stealing Iranian oil.
Q: Are you concerned about the latest inflation numbers that came out this morning? TRUMP: No, I love it. I love the inflation. You know why? Because as soon as this war is over -- do you know we've been taking out millions of barrels of oil? Nobody knows it. You know who doesn't know? Iran until right now.

There is a direct tie to Venezuela where the Trump WH also seized assets of a foreign country and could not answer even the most basic questions as to their legal authority. (They have not given us answers in subsequent off the record follow up either.) youtu.be/DwjWI6RrCKw?si=3QGY…

This is theft either way. If it's a theft to line the pockets of Trump et al it's an individual crime. If it's a theft to steal money for the US it's a collective crime that we all bear when other countries decide that it's now fine to steal stuff. But accountability is coming.
