A terrifying scene in Houston as #Dolphins WR Grant DuBose was carted off the field following a frightening hit over the middle. His jersey was cut off, his facemask removed, and he was placed on an oxygen mask while being attended to for over 10 minutes. Out of respect, no video will be shared.

I am tired (tiny nephews will do that to an adult) and suspect the results won't become clear until tomorrow at least. I am going to watch cartoons and the Muppets until I go to sleep.

Some good news from the night.
Thank you, Delaware! Because of your votes and your values, I am proud to be your next member of Congress. Delaware has sent the message loud and clear that we must be a country that protects reproductive freedom, that guarantees paid leave and affordable child care for all our families, that ensures that housing and health care are available to everyone and that this is a democracy that is big enough for all of us.

All the early indicators are bad for the vice president
*if* this is the gender gap ... - Kamala is only running about the same as Biden among women. Biden won women by 11. - But she losing men by *a lot* more. Biden lost men by 2.

Abortion I think will be a big driver for the Democratic vote everywhere north of the Ohio, Missouri, and Kansas Rivers, east of the Applachians, and west of the Central/Mountain Time boundary. The Evangelical South will still rally to Republicans on the issue.

By the same token, I'm looking at counties with mid-sized (post-)industrial cities like Fort Wayne, IN, and Youngstown, OH. That type of county is tipping more Democratic early (well, with from 30-70% reporting in each).
6 Nov 2024
Still very early, but in counties where 90% is reporting there's a pretty clear pattern that Trump is holding or improving upon his 2020 margins in rural areas.

Also looking at suburban counties around Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Atlanta. Harris is outperforming Biden 2020 in those counties so far.

The last time a Democratic presidential candidate carried Hamilton County, IN, was 1912, when Republicans were split between William Howard Taft and Teddy Roosevelt.
Hamilton County, suburban Indianapolis, Trump won by 6.9 in 2020 ... with 65% reporting, Harris up 1.2

Also looking at Allen County, home of Fort Wayne, a city comparable to Grand Rapids, MI, Sheboygan, WI, and countless other small metros across the Midwest. Trump leading by 4.8% in a county he carried by 11.2% in 2020. 45% reporting. If these numbers hold, Trump's cooked.

If you ever looked for an example of how to live a life, do well by others, and love every minute, you could do worse than follow Bill Walton, who would have turned 72 today.
A basketball season began today with a void only a legend could leave ❤️

One thing I know about tonight's US election - abortion is going to be a *much* bigger issue for voters (especially women) than has been given credit. That one issue could flip states and turn ruby red states purple.
Missouri is among the 10 states where abortion access propositions are on the ballot – and the Democratic candidate for governor says she’s confident Missourians are about to overturn the state’s strict ban on abortion. Follow live election updates: trib.al/Xg3WVCM

Anybody else think Trump in this screenshot looks like he's been embalmed?
Update: Donald Trump's spot also aired after the "Sunday Night Football" game between the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings.

Murray Sinclair was one of the greatest Canadians. May his memory be a blessing and may his work continue on.
Murray Sinclair, the former Senator and chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission has died at 73. Sinclair was also a judge in Manitoba from 1988 to 2009 and was the first Indigenous judge appointed in the province. #cdnpoli
