Im seeing people putting on football sessions saying ELITE OR CAT 1/2 LADS . Then another session grassroots . Trust me there are grassroots lads just as good as Cat 1/2 lads just might not be as athletic Don't be too selective give players a chance to mix it up TOGETHER .

Remember years ago as kids, very rare a player left his team or moved schools. Happens a lot now, why is this?

What is it with some youth ‘coaches’ some kids that can’t be older than 7 doing press ups and sit ups before doing laps 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ alright though as long as those coaches can play 2 touch

At sessions why do the parents of the kids that misbehave just stand there? Are they numb? Just can’t be bothered to parent? Need a rest? Either way they need to drag their kid off the pitch and explain they are spoiling training for everyone else

Correct It’s the same in grassroots football Kid misbehaves Not his fault, must be the fault of other kids or the coach. Zero accountability Too many parents want to be their kids best mate now
I increasingly find that a lot of parents do more complaining about schools than supporting schools or holding their own child to account. This could be anecdotal observations over the last 10 years but it feels like an ever increasing pattern.

Why are some young lads pretending they are semi pro players? Very odd behaviour We’ve a lad telling us he’s step 8 Turns out he’s been training with a Saturday team who are struggling for players, has to pay subs Step 8? Just making it up now

The only real conclusion we can draw from the fact that 85% of the /England) squad signed for academies at the age of 8 is that 8 is the earliest age you can register for an academy. Correlation is not causation. Brilliantly written Nick Cox TD Everton linkedin.com/pulse/takes-vil…

Kids tournaments - seen loads of them & all the same. Teams full of ringers playing in ‘low level’ comps, so level 1 Lenny & his cranky parents can post insta pics of their £10 cups to all their mates

Absolute state of this Saw a big unit from Wigan sink 12 wkds at a kids tournament while smoking like a trooper Next day she was at Spoons with a pint and feeding the kids breakfast She should have her own Podcast
Steven Bartlett says a few glasses of wine ruined the next 3 days of his life “It's one of those areas where you don't understand the hidden cost until you really give it up for a while. I stopped drinking at 30 years old. I'm now 33. When I was 31, I thought, I'll have a drink again because now I could really A/B test it. I had a year of not drinking, decided to have a drink again” “It ruined three days of my life. I had a couple of glasses of wine, didn't get drunk. It ruined three days of my life because of the domino effect it caused” “I got worse sleep that night, and then because I got worse sleep that night, I ate more poorly the next day because my dopamine system or whatever, the cortisol system was all messed up. I podcasted worse. I didn't go to the gym that day or the day after because I felt really bad. I then slept worse, and I could track all of this on my Whoop”

Youth soccer tournament in Southern California over the holiday weekend. Too much ego, lack of education and sometimes even alcohol makes this kind of incident unsurprising.
