#infosec career advice. If all you ever do is fight fires all day, the best you can ever hope to learn is to be more efficient at fighting fires. You will never learn new ways to fight fires. Always schedule time for yourself during your day to just learn. #alwaysbelearning
Gosh, my daughter is telnet port years old today. Ssh port years old went so fast, and SMTP ain’t too far away. Time sure flies. DNS, HTTP, and even SMB coming down the road before you know it!
I’m impressed by how well-written this article about @MalwareTechBlog’s story is.
Many rumors were circulating and portraying him as a villain. Marcus is one of the kindest people I know.
It was about time for the world to know what really happened.

Human Operated Ransomware isn’t slowing down, but payloads are just a stop on a journey attackers are taking through your network. If you focus on the payload you’ll miss actions they performed in your network, and chances to detect and stop them sooner. msft.it/6011Tg9Lx
If you're an aspiring blue teamer or want to learn more about defensive security, then I highly suggest you do this years #HolidayHack! You'll learn a lot about @splunk logging, as well as DFIR. @edskoudis and the @SANSPenTest have really outdone themselves this year!
Twitter people!
I have a 16 yr old cousin who wants to get into infosec. She’s thinking #DFIR which is not my current strong suit.
What tips do you have for a youngin looking to learn?
