ALT PROJET DE LOI S-2 Loi modifiant la Loi sur les Indiens (nouveaux droits à l’inscription) Le projet de loi S-2 du gouvernement modifierait la Loi sur les Indiens, notamment en accordant de nouveaux droits à l’inscription au registre des Indiens pour donner suite à la contestation de certaines dispositions de cette loi fondée sur la Charte canadienne des droits et libertés dans l’affaire Nicholas c. Canada (Procureur général). Les personnes ainsi visées auront également le droit de voir leur nom consigné dans une liste de bande tenue au ministère des Services aux Autochtones.
ALT An Act to amend the Indian Act (new registration entitlements) Government Bill S-2 would amend the Indian Act to, among other things, set out new entitlements to registration in the Indian Register in response to the challenge of certain provisions of the act under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in Nicholas v. Canada (Attorney General). The persons who become so entitled would also have the right to have their names entered in a band list maintained in the Department of Indigenous Services.

Appropriation acts are the means through which expenditures are authorized to pay for certain government programs and services.
