Last night we celebrated the remarkable career and retirement of Randy Mascorella, a leader whose compassion, vision, and dedication changed countless lives across New Mexico.
For 34 years, Randy has been the heart of Special Olympics New Mexico, creating opportunities for athletes to shine, building communities rooted in inclusion, and reminding all of us that courage, joy, and dignity belong to everyone. Under Randy’s leadership, thousands of athletes and families found not only competition and achievement, but also friendship, confidence, and belonging.
Randy’s impact reaches far beyond the playing field. She helped foster a culture of welcome and compassion that inspired volunteers, coaches, families, law enforcement, educators, and communities statewide to come together in support of Special Olympics athletes.
New Mexico is stronger, kinder, and more inclusive because of Randy’s extraordinary service. Her legacy will continue through every athlete empowered to believe in themselves and every community brought together through the mission of Special Olympics.
Thank you, Randy, for your years of leadership, your unwavering belief in people, and the love you poured into this work every single day. Wishing you a retirement filled with joy, peace, and the same inspiration you have given to so many others.
Congratulations on an incredible career and legacy. 💙💛
