This move really damages trust in the research community. Imagine a professor who read everyone else's open research for free and wrote their own series of books but has a strict rule: you are banned from using those books to help you become a professor.

Today we are launching @ElorianAI. At Elorian AI, we are developing the next generation of foundation models capable of native reasoning across multiple modalities. Our primary focus is on creating AI that inherently understands the visual world, achieving this not through the translation of images into textual descriptions, but through direct reasoning of the visual content itself. While notable advancements have been made in models capable of generating photorealistic images and videos, this generative capacity does not directly translate to effective reasoning about visual content. The widening disparity in performance between models on tasks such as coding and those visual tasks where information is not easily reducible to words suggests a deeper issue than current benchmark performance indicates. The development of models capable of comprehending the spatial, structural, and relational complexity inherent in the visual world necessitates fundamentally new technological approaches. I am excited to build a future where models transcend mere text processing to genuinely perceive, comprehend, and analyze visual information.
