Why Lorain County Community College you ask? Let’s answer that. #JucoBandits #AnchorDown
FAQs: Commodore ⚾️ Recruiting 👀 1. I'm a 2026 HS grad with dreams in college baseball. Are you recruiting my class? - Yes! We're aggressively scouting top talent across all positions for our Fall 2026 roster. 2. I was told that JUCO doesn’t count toward my NCAA 4-year eligibility. Is that true? - This is 100% FALSE. No such rule exists. JUCO does indeed count toward your 4-year NCAA eligibility. 3. Is JUCO baseball similar to NCAA baseball? - Yes, we have a fall development season, a winter offseason, and an official spring season. We even play our games on fields and wear uniforms too! However, JUCO has far less practice-time and playing restrictions. Fewer restrictions mean more hands-on coaching, personalized development, and faster growth. It's demanding, very hard, and not for everyone. 4. What's the fall season like at LCCC? - We believe our spring success is built on the foundation of our fall developmental season and winter offseason. - Duration: The fall developmental season lasts for 8 weeks, 5-6 days a week. Players follow our intense fall lifting program integrated into our practices 3x weekly. - Training: We focus on individual and team skill work, play scrimmage dates against all types of competition, and compete internally as a program with intrasquad scrimmages. - Offseason S&C: Post-fall, we ramp up our strength and conditioning program. We kick off with performance testing, assessing players’ baseline strength, speed, and agility through key performance indicators (KPIs). Next, we dive into the first phase of our offseason lifting program. After winter break, we retest all KPIs to track your progress. For the first 3-4 weeks of our offseason S&C program (November–January), we ask players to pause hitting and throwing to focus entirely on building physical dominance. This is the only time all year we can prioritize the weight room over baseball skill, and we make every rep count to maximize your development as a player. 5. Who does LCCC play in the fall? - Due to the coaching change, we have 5 scrimmage dates this fall. Next year, we plan on having that number increased to 8-10 dates. - We want to play the best regional competition because that’s ultimately how we get better. Also, with playing high-quality college baseball programs, we are able to expose our current players to potential future 4-year destinations. - We can play NCAA Division 1, 2, & 3 programs, NAIA, other JUCOs, and 18u Fall Organizations. 6. What are the athletic facilities like at LCCC? - WE DO NOT HAVE A BASEBALL FIELD ON CAMPUS. We have a big and beautiful athletic field house, full weight room, and plenty of expansive outdoor spaces on campus. - While not having a field on campus isn’t ideal, we will always make sure that our players have the best possible fields to call home. We are very fortunate and grateful to get to call both Crushers Stadium (home of the Lake Erie Crushers pro team) and The Pipeyard – one of Ohio's premier baseball venues, our home fields! 7. What can you offer about the academics at LCCC? - We have a beautiful campus that provides students with a "university" feel. We offer a wide range of academic programs that cater to diverse career goals, providing flexibility for student-athletes to pursue their interests while maintaining their athletic commitments. Please check out our academic course catalog located on our school website. - As an accredited institution, our strong academic reputation ensures credits transfer seamlessly to 4-year schools, setting you up for success on and off the field. 8. What is the approximate tuition to attend LCCC as a full-time student-athlete? Affordable and accessible, before any financial aid: - In-state, Lorain County resident: $4,525 - In-state, non-Lorain County resident: $5,200 - Out-of-state: $9,120 - Approximately 80% of students receive some type of financial aid in the form of grants and scholarships. 9. LCCC hasn’t had a winning season in over 20 years. What’s different now? - Top-notch school and athletic department support, including having an athletic director with 15 years of college head baseball coach experience. - A committed and driven coaching staff with a wide variety of knowledge and experience. Our staff consists of: Professional & D1 experiences, successful high school head and assistant coach experiences, and experience with top summer baseball organizations. I was fortunate enough to be apart of a JUCO program that experienced #1 rankings in multiple national offensive statistical categories. All of these experiences are rooted in one trait: WINNING. - Competitive facilities and strong academic reputation. This isn't a rebuild – it's a revolution. It's going to take ball players who truly LOVE what they do to cause a generational change. We want guys who are passionate about their work, carry themselves with a positive presence, and go about their business with a purpose. It's not for everyone, and that's what makes it special. @LabarTim @Seth_Anderson02

Ben McDonald with a great story on failing on the biggest stage and bouncing back. “I never failed at anything in my life…” Then came the College World Series, a walk-off, an opposing coach talking trash and a punch in the gut he needed.

An all-time pitching performance by Jacob Misiorowski. He threw a one-hit Maddux and punched 15. The most in a >99-pitch shutout before was Tarik Skubal's 13. This is Miz finding out in real time what he can be. The velocity is mind-bending. All of it is.
