I am sorry to hear the poet John Lucas has passed away.
John was a perfect gentleman. He was an expert on Baudelaire, Auden. I was lucky to see John read & talk to him a little in my formative years as a young poet in Nottingham.
He will be missed. Rest in peace John 🖤

Sir Nicholas Winton was a British humanist who organised the Kindertransport humanitarian rescue of hundreds of children from Nazi-occupied Europe. His life demonstrated his belief: that people did not need religion to live good, ethical lives. He exemplified 'Think for yourself, act for everyone.'
