I agree, anything nefarious Ukraine does is downplayed, justified or buried while anything nefarious Russia does is amplified in Western mainstream media - and I do not consider X to be true mainstream, just a popular emerging alternative to it.
I'll never forget being in London last summer and my Russian wife wanted to take a picture with a man in traditional costume near castle grounds who was taking pictures with other people. When he heard her accent, he asked where she was from. She answered honestly and he turned his back towards her.
I'll never forget how proud my kids were (and are) to have Russian ancestry, but how when the war in Ukraine started (or shall I say, finally escalated), suddenly everyone had an opinion about it (including fellow school children). People who never knew much of anything about it before 2022 and who were only fed "good guys vs. bad guys" narratives. Suddenly, my kids were on the receiving end of Russophobic bullies, because that's what the media and their stupid parents told them to think.
Whenever a war starts between nations, it's always the dumbest people who turn it into the equivilant of an Alabama vs Auburn football rivalry and then suddenly become extremely prejudiced towards anyone of the nationality not on their "team."
And unfortunately, there are a lot of very, very stupid people. It's too much to bear.
Targeting civilians should be condemned, no matter which side is doing it.
Yet there is only silence from the West - and because of that, your moral high ground is a fucking joke.
The moment of a Ukrainian kamikaze drone strike on a residential highrise building in Ryazan Russia
Several civillians were killed, and many injured- including children.
You won't see this is in the Western media. Ask yourselves why?
