Here is why I think Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage is the weakest game in the trilogy. I could explain these points way better now compared to 2024 when I wrote this down on Backloggd, but I still think it mostly holds up…

I have my pet peeves with Spyro: A Hero's Tail, but I still fuck heavily with the core of that game across the board. It saddens me that this game is being overshadowed by Crash Twinsanity :(

Once again, the worst thing about Crash and Spyro is being owned by Activision because their successes, despite being dormant for long are getting compared to CoD’s humongous successes, and they go “It doesn’t make CoD numbers. Killed it off and put the devs in the CoD mine!”

I mean, it's not hard to believe that the actual devs want their games to be available on as many modern platforms as possible if it were that easy, but the company that gives their paycheck doesn’t see eye to eye with each other :/

Even if it doesn’t happen, the fact that the game is receiving year 2 support alone still shocks me. But I guess they want to support a game that a lot of people enjoy, which is a smart move as long as it doesn’t take away resources from other Sonic games

2017 saw the release of both Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces! On mobile, Gameloft released Sonic Runners Adventure, while Sonic Forces: Speed Battle took Sonic Dash multiplayer! Alas, Archie's Sonic comic also released its last issue.

Wow, they really want Sonic Frontiers to sell way more now to be willing to cut the price across all platforms and not just Steam. I still doubt that this has to do with the Definitive Edition at this point…

It's so funny to me how nearly every established Spyro character in A Hero’s Tail has a new voice, except specifically Sparx and Gnasty Gnorc, who got their original VAs. My guess is that both of them were coincidentally auditioning to voice other characters in that game

I hope Atari and Digital Eclipse someday partner up with Xbox and Activision to re-release the Spyro GBA games.
Fun fact: these games were developed by Digital Eclipse themselves back when they made original games

It’s always good slander until it’s something you like being grossly exaggerated, and then it’s okay to get completely boiled up over a drawing. Some of these responses really tell me that nobody in this fandom has a sense of humor (and are hypocrites)

If Stewart Copeland is sadly not doing the soundtrack for Spyro: A Realm Beyond, I hope Stephan Vankov is the other choice. I think he did a solid job remixing the whole soundtrack for Reignited Trilogy, although that might be a hot take since lots of people hate his remixes
