I can finally talk about how lucky I am to get a first experience on this lovely journal!
Was surprised on how well the texture of the whole book felt, the illustrations... it's truly a Hunter's Journal and that's something I loved!

We do know they considered bringing Qurupeco back in Wilds, but ultimately didn't because its abilities conflicted with the game's weather/seasonal system.

TLDR: They actually were close to bring him back, even the original designer was up for it!
But they thought it would conflict with the season/weather theme and dropped it 🥲
