There’s a racial pathology and entitlement. Blackness has always been a consumable, so when a boundary is set it seems ridiculous to the consumers. They’ve never had to regard black humanity.
And it’s evident because they rarely insist on saying slurs for other racial groups.
I never understood the “you call yourself one, so why can’t we?” rhetoric because what people call each other is often contextual.
Can I call your mom, “mommy” because you call her mommy?
Can I call your boyfriend “baby” because you call him baby?
