The problem he's talking about, is everything that is happening on the streets in the UK, not what's happening online.
He's right. Just hiding it online, won't make it disappear. The stabbing, raping and killing will still continue. Kids just won't know about it anymore.
A ban on social media for under-16s is the right step to protect young people and one I’ve called for.
But bans only treat the symptom, not the problem.
Social media companies need to re-imagine their platforms so they can offer a safe and healthy environment for all users, where restricting access wouldn’t be necessary.
There’s nothing inevitable about algorithms which feed us a diet of dangerous content. Londoners deserve platforms which prioritise people, not just profit.

Gelukkig kan zo'n ban op social media voor kinderen onder 16 in Nederland niet. De linkse deugkneuzen staan het niet toe dat de rechtstaat wordt aangetast, daar zijn ze heel duidelijk over geweest. Zo'n ban zou natuurlijk een grove aantasting van de rechten van het Kind zijn. 😇
