Great job working through the logistics of running a compatibility study of an S8 drug…including having samples stored in a DD safe in an incubator.
Phung To from @AustinHealth sharing their problem solving In Medication Safety stream - what do you do if compatibility of preferred post-op analgesic and infusion fluid is unknown? Do a compatibility study. #MM2023SHPA

True, true @SHPAPresident, we cannot expand and advance one sector of the profession (ie pharmacists) without recognising our pharmacy technicians .

Community pharmacy staff often request hospital dispensing reports for safety net purposes. We want to avoid faxes. Many staff are not permitted to access MHR. Please don't ask us to send these to a @gmail account. What are the alternatives to support patients' continuum of care?

Thank you for this sentiment. When we are all using our skills and working towards the same goal, with the patient at the centre, we all benefit.
'No one wins when healthcare workers turn on each other.' A wonderful article by Ranjana Srivastava @DocRanjana tells us why we shouldn't believe the hype - 'Doctors and pharmacists are not at each other's throats all over Australia.' theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Thanks also, to the fabulous year 8 students at @EPICeduAU for your video to introduce @Austin_Health staff to how important the traditions of Ramadan are to your community. @Austin_HealthRx
#RamadanMubarak2023 to our Muslim community! If you're fasting and taking medicines, or a doctor/nurse/pharmacist, start a conversation about how to best manage medicines during Ramadan. Our patients asked to be partners in their care... publish.csiro.au/AH/AH21392

Anyone see the problem here? Thanks VicTAG for highlighting amongst Victorian hospitals. Do we have to wait until adverse events occur before @TGAgovau steps in to make @ViatrisInc consider #medicationsafety issues when designing packaging? @the_shpa @austin_healthRx

"Both brands of warfarin, in all strengths, are now being supplied to health services (and community pharmacies) in identical blue bottles. Many other medicines manufactured by Mylan/Viatris are already supplied in identical blue bottles."

Here are our experiences with a patients own medicines procedure tailored for the busy ED. What actually happens in your ED (not what does your policy say)? Can we work together for a consistent, pragmatic approach? @acemonline @shpa @Austin_HealthRx sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
