The racist, kinist, and ethnonationalist response to the adoption, by the majority of the NAPARC churches, of a simple, short condemnation of racism/kinism illustrates why this action was necessary. Most of these accounts are anonymous, but some of them are in our churches. The people behind those accounts need to hear the law of God applied concretely to this sin. They need to know that their views are outside the pale and that they need to repent. Preaching the law of God, calling sin what is, and seeking repentance is not virtue signaling. It is a basic part of the ministry of the Word of God.

I remember when my kids were little, there was a whole VBS circuit, that all the moms knew about. You could have your kid in a VBS each week of summer and have your summer childcare covered. There were charts, with churches and times, and everything. Some of the older people got mad about this. Said this was about Jesus, not people getting free childcare. And that's the wrong take. These kids learned to feel safe in church. They heard about Jesus. They met every pastor in town. The financial burden on neighborhood families were lifted. And you didn't see the fruit right away. But when there was a death in the family, or a tragedy, old VBS attenders knew who to reach out to. And they met with Jesus when it mattered, and the Holy Spirit controls the timing, not us. Grace is lavish. The gospel is lavish. Just look at the parable of the sower. He's just throwing seed every which way, on rocks, on thorns, on good soil. Sow lavishly, because the seed we are sowing is lavish. Grace sown stingy isn't grace. My goodness, everyone needs to go and read/watch "Babette's Feast." Learn something about the transforming power of grace when it's given generously.

MAHA has truly brought out the worst in the anti-psych camp. They are posting the most awful memes & CCHR (Scientology) garbage in online support groups for families of adults with severe schizophrenia living in unbearable crisis situations. It’s so harmful & will cause more tragedies.

On World Schizophrenia Day, I urge conservatives hijacked by the woke anti-psych agenda to read this book by my late friend DJ Jaffe. DJ was my political opposite but we united on this: we're failing severely mentally ill. a.co/d/083tyAte

In honor of World Schizophrenia Day, I’m sharing recommended reads. This one is for the church. I was reluctant to read, shame on me, because I knew the tragic outcome. But I’m glad I persevered because it is an honest account of what families face. Now I call @SimonettaCarr my friend and I cannot wait for her next book to be published soon on same subject. Forward by Michael Horton. a.co/d/06fV5ZnB

I wonder how folks would feel if @SecKennedy went after cancer treatments the way he is going after medicine for people with serious mental illness?

"As we read, we should think the best of the author before us and engage the thoughts and ideas of the fellow image-bearer. ... If we accept only some books as part of our charmed circle, we fall short of Christian love and charity in the act of reading." (J.V. Fesko)

Are our requests for prayer from other believers different from prayers of intercession from departed saints? This question by Carl Trueman caught me by surprise. Thankfully, he provides the answer. share.google/fQpgEe5iDgqs9xP…

I discovered that International Labor Day, set on May 1, started in the US after a violent workers' protest in Chicago. The US moved it to September to detach it from its socialist roots. Now Americans celebrate it with hamburgers and hotdogs. American history is fascinating.
