À l’occasion de la 10168e séance du Conseil de sécurité, tenue le 9 juin 2026, la République démocratique du Congo a réaffirmé que la non-prolifération nucléaire demeure un pilier essentiel de la sécurité collective.
La RDC appelle au respect des engagements internationaux, au dialogue et à la coopération pour préserver la paix et la sécurité internationales.
La déclaration de la RDC a été prononcée par son Représentant permanent auprès des Nations Unies, l'Ambassadeur Zénon Mukongo Ngay (@ZMukongo).

🔎 In this strategic reflection, the author highlights a critical reality:
at a time of growing nuclear risks and accelerating arms competition, the credibility of the global non-proliferation regime increasingly depends not on treating the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) as competing frameworks, but on finding ways for them to work together in a mutually reinforcing manner.
⚖️ The key challenge today is to strengthen complementarity between these international instruments in order to reinforce the global architecture of:
✅ nuclear disarmament;
✅ arms control;
✅ non-proliferation;
✅ international peace and security.
🌐 This contribution is part of broader efforts to promote multilateral cooperation, strategic stability, and a more secure world free from the threat of nuclear weapons.

With 193 States Parties, only four countries remain outside the treaty. It is the most widely adopted disarmament agreement in history.
