🚨 New Multicenter Study on Bag-Valve-Mask Ventilation in Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest 🚑
🔍 Researchers explored the effectiveness of bag-valve-mask ventilation during 30:2 CPR pauses.
📊 Findings: Better lung inflation in ≥50% of pauses = Higher rates of spontaneous circulation and survival with favourable neurological outcomes.
💡 Conclusion: Effective ventilation during CPR is crucial for improved patient outcomes.

Another golden brick from @sim_brick . I’d add that the design process for interprofessional sim should also be interpofessionally led to promote meaningful, engaging sim/objectives for all participants and avoid potentially harmful ‘role-stereotyping’.
Interprofessional simulation based education can provide a powerful learning opportunity to enhance collaborative practice.
Importantly - debriefing needs also to be lead interprofessionally - to enhance learning and role model real world collaboration.

100% agree. I think that video review has its place, however this needs a significant, considered level of psychological safety and emotional intelligence.
🎥 Video replay can be a powerful adjunct in simulation debriefing.
However, if not facilitated well - can hamper learning and at worst, cause learner distress.
