Big thank you to Lauren @KentishStourCP for the River Dipping session this morning. Wonderful to know the new fish pass is brimming with life πŸ’š
A great morning river dipping at Buxford Woodland fish pass. We found lots including a frog, damselfly nymphs, case caddis and some beetles which we will further try to identify! @AshfordCouncil @SingletonLake @EnvAgencySE

Big milestone for AquaLab! As of today, Our Stour has provided educational sessions relating to rivers, to over 1000 children! Our target was 450 children over the 3 year project (we still have 1 year to go!) To celebrate we made friends with these smooth newts at @WardenHouse

Just a gentle reminder when feeding the ducks and other birds at the lake- Please give small portions and ensure what you’ve given is eaten before giving more and try to avoid leaving food on the ground. By feeding the ducks we are also inadvertently feeding the rats!

The council try to maintain the rat population in the area because if their population boosts it can have a detrimental effect on wildlife. Rats enjoy eating bird eggs so more rats mean less wildlife on the lake. Please feed responsibly πŸ¦†πŸ₯
