Regarding the piggyback mania coming to the #Mariners, here's some stats that might shed some light..
- Mariners SP's are sporting a 6.67 ERA on the third turn through an opposing order which is 22nd in MLB
- Mariners SP ERA jumps from 2.92 ERA in the 5th inning to a whopping 7.49 ERA (29th) in the 6th inning
- Mariners SP's average a 3.32 ERA through the first five innings of a game (3rd), which balloons to a 6.91 ERA for innings 6 and 7 (28th).
On average, M's starters are struggling to finish outings. You can still feel however you want about the piggybacking though.
