Team Australia AUSA U17 has many players worth watching, but Emmanuel Quin has been a true game changer in the second half. He’s scored 7 straight points as I type this, first rising up for a massive standing dunk where he impressed me with his standing vertical. Although he was fired up, he didn’t fall victim to the moment, not biting on a pump fake on the ensuing defensive possession, then wisely hitting the brakes on a player attempting to take a charge before hitting a short push shot. His last 3 points came in an and-one opportunity. Marcus Marshall Jr of @RealPhenomBBALL is a reliable point guard who can do it all. You can’t switch with him on the floor, as his combination of shooting, ball handling, speed, and finishing create an unwinnable situation for slower defenders. He’s also a willing and able passer and an electric athlete. Marshall Jr just took the crowd’s breath after an absurd chasedown block, leaping from one side of the paint to the other to deny what seemed like a wide open lay. @NxtProHoops

Reagon Hollingworth of OSA 17U is a strong, sturdy defender who truly enjoys this end of the court. I’ve now seen him stop two opponents with major height advantages at the rim, once by using his physicality and lower center of gravity to tip a well-placed post entry pass. His second moment came when he rotated to cut off a driving forward right outside the charge circle, where he forced a tough shot that rimmed out. On offense, Hollingworth is a strong playmaker with good burst, a good feel for playing point, and an unselfish attitude. @NxtProHoops @RyanJames_6

Nathaniel Slavneak of OSA 17U has been a true force to be reckoned with in his game against A1 elite. He has good size, is strong, and is constantly in the right place. Tysen Jefferson of A1 Elite 17U is a strong all-around point guard. He is an expert in beating his man off the dribble in iso, off the screen, and in transition/press break. Capable and confident scorer at all 3 levels. OSA has thrown quite a few doubles at him as a result, and Jefferson has done a remarkable job of staying cool under pressure and finding the right man. He’s a big reason A1 has led this game for the majority of the second half. @NxtProHoops

Lakeevis Hunt of @TeamMindsetTx 17U is quite the two-way player. He splits time between playing point and as an off ball guard, and he thrives in both roles. On offense, Hunt has deep range, already hitting an nba-range three in this game off a kickout. He also is a skilled playmaker who can get downhill and make the correct decision, both finishing tough layups and hitting the corner for open threes. What I like most about Hunt is just how much passion he brings. He is tough, fearless, and always brings the energy in his matchups. @NxtProHoops @LakeevisH

Deondra Jones of @TeamMindsetTx is an energetic scoring guard who is a master at getting downhill. Bigger defenders are simply too slow to keep up with Jones, but he also has the dribble moves and rhythm to blow past quick opponents. @NxtProHoops

Jamir Weller of @TeamMindsetTx has been everything you want from a point guard in his matchup against WGS 17U. He is a precise ball handler who is equally comfortable running the team offense or creating his own advantage. He’s also a hounding defender, using his strength and lateral quickness to envelop defenders similar to Lu Dort or Jrue Holiday, with offensive players seemingly sticking like glue after making contact. @NxtProHoops

Dmaurion Abbott of @LaElite_Sports looks like the kind of player you want on your team. He is a very smart player, always in the right position on both ends of the floor. Abbott makes defense look easy, effortlessly cutting off his opponents with his chest each time they make a move. On offense, he makes the right play, shoots the 3 well, and has a nasty handle. My favorite highlight from his first half came when he beat his man off a close out, then was met with aggressive help in the paint. Devin Kinchen of Louisiana Elite 15U Pro16 has heen a true game changer against Hoop City, and it’s only been 3 minutes into this game. Devin has 3 points, an assist, and 2 steals already, knocking down a three and hitting a beautiful pass to the opposite corner off a drive for an assist. His two steals came a hounding effort in LA Elite’s full/halfcourt press. @PRO16League @NxtProHoops

Grant Butler of WER1 15U has been an electric offensive weapon in this match against SA Future Red. He is shifty with his dribble, regularly slithering into the paint for good looks despite being the shortest player in the court. When he gets to the rack, he can diagnose the defense and make the correct decision to shoot or pass. Super fun player to watch too, can win 1-on-1 matchups on command. @NxtProHoops

Ethan Larry if WER1 15U is the biggest guy on the court in his matchup against SA Future, and his presence has been felt. Larry has gotten his hands on everything in the paint: rebounds, blocks, post looks, you name it. He’s quite strong considering his height and age, and he has a knack for being in the right place on defense and for rebounds with his high-level feel for the game. Exciting player I will be keeping an eye on @NxtProHoops

Brayden Schraub of @SAFutureBB Red U15 has been an elite offensive player in both games I’ve seen from him this weekend. In his current matchup against WER1, Brayden has been a great leader of the offense. He can shoot off the dribble and off ball screens, has great feel, and is a willing and able passer. My favorite play from him came when he signaled for a teammate to cut, then immediately attacked the vacated space. He beat his man, drew help, then made the kick out to the wide open three point shooter. Elite feel from a 15 year old. @NxtProHoops
