Despite what the fossil fuel industry and its promoters claim, heat pumps are reliable.
They're so much more efficient than air conditioners that they'll *reduce* energy demand in the short term, not raise it.

We have good technology. With political will, we could have manufacturing and installation jobs created to ramp up decarbonization of both new and existing buildings. Starting with new construction just makes sense. We can do this.

The NYS Assembly passed the Advanced Building Codes, Appliance and Equipment Efficiency Standards Act (S.9405/A.10439) Wed night, 1 day after NYS Senate passed it. The law, which will go to @GovKathyHochul's desk, will save NYers more than $15B by 2035!
