Today in the Solidaritech office we have people from China, Iran, UK, Ireland, Sudan, Gambia and Colombia.
If anyone from the US/Canada or Australia wants to stop by next time we’ll have someone from every continent.
Mobile phones are crucial to all our lives. 📱
They’re the cheapest and easiest way to access the internet. Plus, they help us stay in touch with friends, manage bills, book appointments and more.
❗ But right now, people on low incomes are often struggling to afford a phone.

Huge thanks to @Solidaritech_ for the two laptops and a tablet for 3 refugees living with Latch.
Digital exclusion is a real issue for people rebuilding their lives after homelessness.
If you have old machines lying around consider donating to them solidartech.com
Lovely moment just now. Two of the first people we helped when we first set up Solidaritech are now working for IT companies, and they just stopped by with 20 donated machines to help us help more people.
Pay it forward, people. #TechnologyForEveryone

A person was killed yesterday trying to enter the UK via Eurostar from France, so badly burned they couldn’t be identified.
They know their ‘Stop the Boats’ fiasco is simply displacing migration back to HGV & trains. People will keep dying until they create safe access.
We’ve been asked to put a surprise box of tech treats for a digital company so that they can have a fun environmental hack team build.
Which components (bits & bytes) & kit would you love to get to play with?
(Not sausages maybe Pi & Chips)
We wanted to share some of the lovely messages of thanks we've received this year. #TechnologyForEveryone
ALT An animated gif saying: “I can’t praise Solidaritech enough for the difference their work can make to vulnerable individuals. I work with asylum seekers who have minimal funds , if any, and having a tablet / laptop can be the difference between being able to engage in study and not.
Additionally, providing a smartphone can be vital in someone being able to access physical and mental health care and be able to contact friends / family etc. All these things are essential for wellbeing.
Solidaritech provided an asylum seeker I work with a chromebook and it has been essential in enabling him to engage with college study. Subsequently it made a noticeable positive difference to his mental health. Being able to study means that, should he get a positive decision, he will be in a better position to find employment and integrate.
Than kyou Solidaritech, the work you do is extremely important and valued. “
