Video games are not a charity. They aren't art you hang up in a museum. We don't have billionaire patrons who will pay $200M for a vanity project. These things need to be commercially viable, but too many in the Enthusiast media (influencers among them) have spent so long tearing everything down (DLC, microtransactions, loot boxes, AI, etc.) that they've created a huge rift between the economics of the industry and player expectations. So tell me... Who is going to buy a business running at 3% contribution margin? To leave loss-making studios open? In case this gorgeous idea of AA (where everyone just says Clair Obscur and then can't say anything else) magically starts printing money? If that actually worked, everyone would already be doing it.
