Eric Vorhees talks about his first ever Bitcoin meetup in NYC and how they thought they were too late when Bitcoin was already at $5
βI went to the first Bitcoin meetup ever in New York in August of 2011. 50 people were there and it was like the entire global Bitcoin community.β
βBitcoin was $5, something like that.β
βWe wondered like if we were too late. The year earlier, it was 50 cents, right? So something runs up 10X in a year. It's very reasonable to be like, am I just jumping on the bandwagon?β
βBut we all like to fantasize that maybe, someday Bitcoin could hit like $100 and that's a stretch, but maybe some people were willing to believe it could get to $1,000.β
βAnd then some people were willing to believe that it could become the base money of the world. And that's the camp that I'm in. That's the camp I was in then and it's the camp I'm still in now.β
