Primary 6 Room 10 have been learning about Habit 1 - Be Proactive. We have been thinking about our reactions and emotions. We are working hard to use our learning each day.
St Marieโs Primary School and STAND Dementia Charity, are continuing their intergenerational programme by working together to learn how to play Park Gowf. A super first session, led by Martin and Angus from Dunnikier Golf Club, was thoroughly enjoyed by both generations.
Enabling pupil voice, all of our children enjoy meeting in a House Huddle each term. The House Captains, Deputes and Prefects prepare the agenda and lead the discussions on improvements we can make in our school.
P3 had a great time at Pannie Den! We spent time learning about different animals and then worked in groups to create a den for them! ๐ธ We also had a chance to create a fire and toast marshmallows! ๐ฅ
Celebrating Christmas Around the World. We are proud to be a multi cultural school and learn about the different Christmas traditions celebrated by our families. Many thanks to parents and staff who supported this event with delicious food, music and information.
Excited to start our next intergenerational project with @Stand Dementia charity and our choir. Working together to write and then perform a Christmas song at our Christmas shows. Many thanks to Gus Harrower, professional musician, for supporting us all through the process.
Primary 1โs outdoor learning today was inspired by our book of the week - Room on the Broom. We made magical potions and collected sticks to turn them into magic wands ๐ช ๐
Primary 1โs Book of the Week is โRoom on the Broomโ and we worked SO hard on our writing today using some sounds and keywords that we have been learning ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งน๐
Today Primary 1 learned all about number 10 and tens frames. We loved using the bingo dabblers to make our own tens frames and finding 10s all over the classroom. We all rated our work 10 out of 10! ๐คฉ
Primary 1 have been learning a new sound today: h. We made horses, practised forming the letter h and sounded out some h words like hat and hen ๐๐
From our comprehension activities, R11 learned about Neil Armstrong and the moon landing. We also looked at Dorothy Vaughan, Katherine Johnson and Mary Jackson who were some of the mathematicians in NASA who helped with the mission.
During our health lesson, Primary 6 discussed how our actions can impact others. We looked at the poem 'The Wrinkled Heart' and made Circle of Control posters.
