Using @MedicareGov data, we show that 5% (n=187) of EP operators are
#WomeninEP. % women was stagnant from 2013-2019. Total AF operators grew by 137%, yet women operators were unchanged (4%,n=46). #EPeeps@HRSonline how can we recruit/retain more #WomeninEP?
Proud of our fellows @poojaprasad91 and @StaceyHowellMD for this. While we need to stay vigilant for undiagnosed ATTR-CM, screening AF patients (even just those w LVH) is not the way. @MasriAhmadMD
Now that we are all comfortable with LVOT/summit/pap PVCs, have had several of these posteroseptal/crux ones lately that are quite challenging. This took HP RFA from both sides of septum, including 1/2 NS. Nice mapping by @StaceyHowellMD. Any #EPEEPS have experience with these?
Heading home from #HRS2022. My highlights: -gathering with former @UCSF_EP fellows; PFA promising but not perfect… so many companies working on this- who will survive? PFA promising for VT; LBB pacing; #bringbackposters; so many enthusiastic fellows- need more women in EP!
Do pulmonary vein PACs most commonly induce #Afib because they are the most common site or origin or because they are especially arrhythmogenic? @StaceyHowellMD harnesses #HOLIDAY data to suggest it’s the latter @UCSFCardiology @B_Naz_MD
